Last Year we had 200 different real ales over eight hand pumps. In this section you will be able to find some more details on some of the beers that we have had on the pumps.

Swift One (3.8%) - Bowman Ales

A pale, golden quaffing ale with excellent flavours for its strength. Pleasingly hoppy throughout without being aggressive and also possessing of a fine aroma. The finish is dry with a small twist of sweetness at the end. If you feel that this is all rather pretentious then it can best be described as a bloody nice pint!

Quiver (4.5%) - Bowman Ales

Gloriously rich golden in colour and with a wonderful mown grass aroma, this premium bitter is full of complex flavours including a tiny amount of caramel. The addition of American hops gives it a full hop flavour with a dry finish. As with the Swift One this is also a bloody good beer!

Shropshire Gold (3.8%) - Salopian Brewery

A light copper coloured ale, the complex malt grist gives an unusual blend
of body and dryness. The beer is triple hopped using finest British Goldings and
Slovenian Styrian Goldings to give plenty of fruity aromas and flavours.

Abbey Gates (4.3%) - Salopian Brewery

A copper coloured best bitter with a distinctive floral aroma. Crystal and black
Malt give rich body, and a triple hopping of Goldings and Styrian Goldings provides
a fine flavour and finish.

Hoptwister (4.5%) - Salopian Brewery

A premium bitter with a fine citrusy flavour and a complex hop finish. A malt grist of barley and wheat and a triple hopping of First Gold and Saaz gives a beer that is refreshing
and crisp.

Golden Thread (5%) - Salopian Brewery

Of our core brands this has the most pronounced bitterness. A triple hopping of English First Gold gives powerful citrussy flavours and vinous aromas, however the malt grist of barley, wheat and lager gives plenty of body and sweetness which balances the assertive bitterness.

A straw coloured extremely moreish session beer that has a surprisingly full flavour for it's strength. A pleasant and distinctive aroma is followed by a moderate hop bitterness. The fresh finish leaves you wanting another..

Sheredrop (4.2%) - Surrey Hills Brewery

The Flagship beer is pale in colour with a subtle hint of grapefruit and lemon in the aroma. The wonderful hop bitterness is complemented by a balanced malt flavour. The beer has a long finish, which is moderately dry.

A warming dark winter beer that has a hint of blackcurrant in the aroma. Beautifully balanced and smooth, this is a beer for a connoisseur.

Hopgarden Gold (4.6%) - Hogsback Brewery

A malty pale golden beer with hints of banana and pineapple. An excellent balance of aroma and bittering hops followed by a long dry hoppy finish.

A pale brown malty bitter with a hoppy and slightly fruity aroma. A well crafted bitter sweet beer with a long dry finish. A classic best bitter.

Bathams Best Bitter (4.3%) - Bathams Delph Brewery

A straw coloured bitter which initially seems sweet, but a complex dry, hoppy taste soon predominates. Probably the best example of the traditional Black Country style of bitter.

Summer Lightning (5%) - Hopback Brewery

A trendsetter in the brewing industry, the original summer ale, brewed all year round, using East Kent Golding hops. An extremely pleasant , bitter, straw coloured beer with a teriffic fresh, hoppy aroma. This, coupled with an intense bitterness, leads to an excellent long, dry finish.

A very clean, flaxen coloured beer with a wonderful thirst quenching properties. The subtle blend of aroma and bittering hops gives a crispness on the tongue which is delicately fruity, giving way to some dryness.
